The awards recognise the fantastic effort colleges and schools put into providing excellent facilities for the animals in their care.
Blue Cross education development manager Tracy Genever wants to rewards schools and colleges that:
"Successfully juggle the demands of a course where lots of students need access
to animals while, at the same time, maintaining strong animal welfare principles"

- Best overall equestrian centre for welfare – Kingston Maurward College, Dorset
- Best overall animal unit for welfare – Shuttleworth College, Bedfordshire
- Best mammal group management welfare – South Staffordshire College, Rodbaston for their marmosets
- Best bird welfare management – Shuttleworth College for their parrots
- Best fish welfare management – Kirklees College
- Best reptile and amphibian welfare management – Shuttleworth College
- Best invertebrate welfare management – Reaseheath College, Cheshire
