Address: Blue Cross Grimsby animal hospital, Coco Markus House, Nelson Street, Grimsby, NE Lincolnshire DN32 7SH
Tel: 0300 777 1840 Fax: 0300 777 1841
9.00am – 12.30pm and 2.00pm – 4.00pm Monday to Friday.
We have an out of hours service for emergency cases only. Clients are asked to ring first so we can assess if their pet needs to be treated straight away.
Is my pet eligible for treatment?
Clients who are on certain means-tested benefits or low incomes, and live within the Grimsby hospital catchment area, may be eligible for the Blue Cross pet care card. With a pet care card, you can receive treatment for your pet at Grimsby hospital.
To register, you’ll be requested to bring proof of your benefit along with photo ID or a utility bill. The hospital catchment area is defined by postal codes.
How many pets can I register?
New clients can register up to two pets at a Blue Cross hospital or clinic. Unfortunately we can’t allow you to register any more than two, even if you have more pets. This is because we want to help as many people and their pets access our veterinary services as we can.
If you give away or sell a pet that’s registered at a Blue Cross hospital or centre, you’ll have to wait six months before you can register a new one in their place. There are times when this rule won’t apply – for example if your pet is put to sleep for medical reasons or we advise you that you shouldn’t keep your pet any longer. If you’re unsure, please speak to your local hospital.
If you already have more than two pets registered with us we’ll continue to treat them but, when you no longer have that pet, you won’t be able to register a new one in their place.
Find out more about the Blue Cross pet care card, including if you are eligible and live within the postal catchment area. You can also call the hospital on 0300 777 1840 for more information.

Become a volunteer short term foster carer for pets at Blue Cross and help improve the welfare of the animals in our care. As a volunteer foster carer you will look after needy animals in your own home while they are recuperating from operations, or illnesses, or young kittens or puppies until they are able to find a permanent new home. If you live within 45 minutes of the centre and are interested in this rewarding volunteer role, please email email@example.com
