Blue Monday? Cheer yourself up by helping one of these gorgeous pets
Posted on 21 Jan 2013
If you’re feeling a bit down, apparently you’re not alone. Today has been dubbed Blue Monday, the day of the year that most of us feel at our lowest.
But at Blue Cross it’s hard to feel really blue when we’re surrounded by loving pets who always look on the bright side of life no matter what they’ve been through.
So why not cheer yourself up by helping a sick, injured or homeless pet have a happy, healthy future?
Here are just some of the unwanted animals who are looking for loving homes so if you and your family are thinking about getting a pet, have a look at their profiles.
If you’re not looking for a pet a the moment, then there are lots of other ways you can help – release your endorphins by taking part in one of our fundraising active challenges or make a donation to support our work.
However you choose to support us, it’ll give you that feel-good factor to help you get through Blue Monday.
Boston is a lovely four-year-old pointer crossbreed. He has bags of energy and loves to play – in fact, he’d play all day if he could. He gets on very well with other dogs and he’s looking for owners who will take him on adventures. Check him out having fun in his video.
Eight-year-old Kitty is a sweet cat who loves the company of people. She’s at her happiest when she is curled up next to her owner and, when she’s in a cuddly mood, she’ll sit on your lap for a fuss. Have a look at how friendly she is in her video.
Roxy is a youngster who’s had a tough start to life and really needs a fresh start. As she’s only two years old, she’s looking for a home as a non-ridden companion where she can enjoy her youth until she’s ready to come back to Blue Cross to see if she’d make a suitable riding pony. Visit Roxy’s rehoming profile to find out more.
Picachu and her pals all need a family to call their own and are looking to be rehomed in a group or pairs. They are very friendly and enjoy being out in their run, nibbling on the grass and watching the world go by. Guinea pigs can make great pets – they’re lots of fun to watch and have a varied vocabulary. Meet them here.
We can’t believe Bailey is still looking for a home – he’s been at Blue Cross for quite some time now and this handsome chap is struggling to find a home. At two years old he’s big, bubbly and full of life and he would make a fabulous pet for active owners who enjoy long walks and playing games. Say hello to Bailey.
