Big is beautiful at Blue Cross

Posted on 28 Jan 2013

Our pets come in all shapes and sizes and recently we’ve taken in some fabulous dogs who are larger than life and have big personalities to boot. But it’s not just their size that they have in common – they are all struggling to find a loving home, as Blue Cross editor Natasha Kleanthous reveals…

Big dogs have lots of love to give. But sadly at the moment, these pooches have no one to give it to.

Despite their happy and bubbly personalities, these fabulous dogs are failing to win the hearts of new families.

Some people are put off by large dogs, preferring one they think is a more “manageable” size, and others are worried by the playful and boisterous nature of these fun-loving chaps.

But if you’re an active kind of person and you’re looking for some company on your adventures – whether that’s exploring new turf, training for a race or trying a new sport, like Cani X – one of these dogs could be exactly what you’re looking for.

Please do take a look at these lovely dogs and let your friends know about them too. With your help, hopefully, they’ll find loving homes soon:

Hugo loves going for long and interesting walks and he’s also a pretty good runner, so he’d make an ideal jogging mate. He enjoys playing with his toys and he has a good retrieve. He’s a very fun dog to work and play with.

Barney is a fun chap who likes to keep busy, whether that’s chasing and retrieving his toy for you or going out for long walks. He’s got a big and boisterous personality and he’s quite a powerhouse so he’d like to meet new owners who understand his breed and enthusiasm for life!

Bailey desperately deserves a second chance. He was found as a stray and taken to the dog pound, but sadly no one ever came to claim him. He’s an enthusiastic dog who absolutely adores being around people and he would be very happy in an active home with owners who enjoy training.

Every day is fun day in Boston’s mind and he’s really missing a family of his own to play with. He has lots of energy and loves exploring the great outdoors – now he just needs new owners to explore with.

None of these pets quite right for you? Have a look at our rehoming pages to meet all the animals we have looking for homes.
