Dumped cat may have been thrown out of moving car

02 Jul 2012

A cat found dumped and covered in mud may have been thrown out of a moving car, staff at Blue Cross fear.

Ben was in a terrible way when he was found abandoned at another local cattery and brought to the Blue Cross rehoming centre in Lewknor.

Jess Hollis, animal welfare assistant, says: “The lady that found him said he was in a sorry state.

“He was caked in mud all along his back, right down to his tail. She thought he might have been thrown from a car.”

We took Ben in and gave him the care he needed, included worming and flea treatments plus essential vaccinations to keep him happy and healthy.

Ben quickly improved and was soon ready to start life in a new home.

Jess adds: “Ben is such a lovely boy who adores company. He loves being groomed and will purr instantly when being fussed.

“Ben settled in at Blue Cross very well but dreamed of a loving home where he could have all the fuss he deserves, so we were delighted when he was rehomed.”

Last month we took in nearly 500 unwanted and abandoned cats. The more you help us, the more we can help pets, so please make a donation today.
