Nana has her eye on a new home

26 Jul 2012

A cat who was the victim of a senseless air gun attack is looking for a new home at Blue Cross.

Nana was already missing one eye due to a suspected road accident when she was given to our Felixstowe rehoming centre after her owner died earlier this year.

It was only then, while she was enjoying one of her daily cuddles with a member of the Blue Cross team, that a lump was discovered below her ear that turned out to be an old air gun pellet.

We are now hoping to find a new home for this brave black and white cat where she can put her past behind her.

Blue Cross deputy centre manager Clare Williamson says: “Nana is a loving and sociable cat despite the trauma she’s been through over the years.

“Nana’s owners didn’t know much about her past and presumed she’d lost her eye in an accident. But now we’ve found the pellet we wonder if it was from the air gun attack.”

Whatever the case, it’s a heartbreaking history and one that we hope she can finally leave behind her in a new home.

A mature moggy herself, Nana would suit an adult home. She could live with older children able to understand that approaching her from her blind side may scare her.

She would rather have the run of the house and be the only pet in her new home.
