Blue Cross has awarded a Lincolnshire nurse for her outstanding dedication to animal welfare and her charity work.

Sam Shand of Lincolnshire was awarded the Veterinary Nurse of the Year Award after being nominated by her colleagues at Quarrington Veterinary Surgery.

The award was presented during the British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA) Congress in Telford, Shropshire.

Helen Fry, practice manager at the surgery where Sam works, said: “Sam works tirelessly to look after the animals in our care and still has the energy to use her free time to educate youngsters and fundraise for numerous charities. We are so very proud that she has won this award.”
