Ten tonnes of clothes donated to The Blue Cross

03 Mar 2011

An appeal by The Blue Cross for unwanted clothes has had a fantastic start with more than 10 tonnes of stock being collected already.

We teamed up with wholesaler National Veterinary Services (NVS) to encourage people to donate stock that we can sell in our charity shops.

Nearly 2,000 private vet surgeries got involved by promoting the appeal and acting as a collection point for us.

We’ve already received more than 1,000 bags of clothing which we think will be worth well over £20,000 for our shops when we sell them.

We still need more donations to make sure we have good quality stock to sell in all our charity shops. To find out if your local practice is taking part in the appeal look out for special posters and collection bags.
