Shoppers' spare change raises £400 for unwanted pets at Blue Cross23 Mar 2012
Shoppers have helped to raise £400 for abandoned and unwanted pets at Blue Cross simply by giving up their spare change.
Pet store chain Pets at Home asked customers for donations at the tills of its Bexhill branch and their generous customers were happy to help.
Blue Cross doesn’t receive any government funding and relies on donations to pay for its work so we’re really grateful for this wonderful gift.
The money will help us to care for homeless pets at our Northiam rehoming centre.
The Pets at Home team also regularly display photos and details on their in-store noticeboards of the pets looking for homes at the centre.
Store manager Mark Taylor says: “It’s a really easy way to raise money and we were very happy to be able to help out a great charity like Blue Cross who are doing so much to help needy pets in the area.”
