Why Home Direct was perfect for Linda and Barclay

Making the decision to give up her beloved dog Barclay was extremely tough for his owner Linda Piper.

But when her circumstances changed and she was no longer able to keep him she just wanted to make sure he got the love and attention he deserved.

That’s when she turned to the Blue Cross Home Direct scheme. It meant Linda could keep Barclay at home with her until we found a new owner for him, which made the process much easier to bear.

Barclay settled very well into his new home with the Kearley family, consisting of Nikki, Graham and their four children.

Nikki says: “I was able to ask Linda questions and find out what Barclay liked and didn’t like and we got to see how he behaved away from the excitement of kennels.

“Barclay is very much loved. He is the kind of soulmate you search for in an animal.”
