‘Bait’ cat Eric seeks new home after lucky escape

A young cat found tied to a tree and used as bait to taunt dogs is now in safe hands and looking for a new home.

Eric, an 11-month-old ginger and white cat, was discovered in a London park by a kind-hearted person who took him straight to the Blue Cross animal hospital in Victoria, London.

Despite being left terrified by his ordeal, Eric had no injuries and after a few days of lots of TLC from our vet nurses, was transferred to the Blue Cross rehoming centre in Lewknor, Oxfordshire to find a new home.

Tim Sillis, Centre Manager at Blue Cross in Lewknor, said: “This is an awful story. Unfortunately some people use cats in this way, but thankfully it’s very rare. It must have been absolutely terrifying for Eric to go through what he did, but luckily someone came to his rescue.

“We’re just glad he’s safe in our care now. Hopefully it won’t be long until he finds a loving new home.”

Eric is an affectionate boy who is looking for owners who are around for most of the day to settle him in. He’d also love access to a garden as he loves to explore. Eric has a cheeky side to his nature and will make a fun and loving pet.
