Interdressage offers The Blue Cross help with a difference

The Blue Cross has recently taken up a kind offer of one free entry per month into a dressage competition with a difference. Currently over 500 horses and ponies belonging to The Blue Cross are in loans homes, but without a lot of time and effort put into retraining these animals, loan homes would often not be a possibility. To assist us with this, Interdressage, a website where videos of competing horses are judged, has encouraged The Blue Cross to get competing!

Interdressage gives people the chance to compete from the convenience of their own home in monthly competitions. The classes cater for all standards, with fantastic rosettes and quality feedback from British Dressage listed judges and freelance instructors. Our Blue Cross entries have had some excellent feedback and outcomes with one of our horses, Orrie, winning his class. Jenna Martyn, acting yard manager at the Burford equine centre explains, “It is fantastic to be involved in online competing. Entering one of our horses enables members of the public to see some of the amazing horses we have and increases their chance of finding a loving home. It also gives us the chance to compete without leaving the yard, saving valuable time and gaining professional feedback on horse and rider.”

For December, Interdressage has branched out to create a special charity class for dogs. The ‘Christmas Cracker style and performance class for dogs’ is in aid of The Blue Cross and The Retired Greyhound Trust. “Interdressage has had a good year and we wanted to do something a little bit different for Christmas, So we decided to run a class for dogs, and what better charities to support than the Retired Greyhound Trust and The Blue Cross?”, says Karina from Interdressage.
