Pet Fostering Service Scotland (PFSS) are registered with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator, having been established since 1985. Since then a network of volunteers have dedicated many hours to help PFSS deliver their short-term pet fostering service. The foster carers and area organisers work collectively to provide subsidised care for pets whose owners are in an emergency situation and are temporarily unable to care for them. Examples of such situations include ill health, temporary homelessness and domestic abuse. In some cases, a pet is unable to be reunited with their owner due to a change in circumstances. The collaboration The Blue Cross has with PFSS will help such needy pets in Scotland, and enable the effective rehoming for an increased number of animals.
