Society for Companion Animal Studies

SCAS is a charity dedicated to understanding the bond between people and pets. It carries out a range of educational activities such as:

• hosting conferences on various aspects of the human-companion animal bond
• commissioning and dissemination of research into the benefits of pet ownership
• production of publications focused on specific topics such as 'pets and older people', 'children and pets: a guide for parents, teachers and therapists' and 'pet loss'

SCAS is a membership organisation, with members based in the UK and in several overseas countries.
