Training in pet bereavement support

We rely on a team of dedicated volunteers - called befrienders - who take calls or emails at home from bereaved pet owners.

We are often looking to recruit new volunteers. If you have some time to spare in the daytime and/or evening during the week and weekends we would be delighted to hear from you:

All volunteers must undergo a six-month supervised correspondence training programme. Once fully trained, we ask befrienders to commit a minimum number of hours per month to the service.

If you are interested in training to become a befriender for the PBSS please Download further information here

Please note: We appreciate all offers of help but due to the nature of the service, demand for new volunteers depends on the time available to take calls.
