Cares for: currently cats only

Due to extensive refurbishment work currently being undertaken on the kennels, the Thirsk centre will not be rehoming or admitting dogs until we reopen in 2009. If you find yourself in the position where you need to hand your dog into The Blue Cross, please get in touch with the centre so that we can offer advice and help.

Opened in 1987, the centre was partly converted from old boarding kennels. One building on the site was an ablution block for the RAF during the Second World War. The centre serves North Yorkshire, Teeside and parts of West Yorkshire. A new cattery and reception was built in 1999 and the centre can accommodate up to 24 dogs and 40 cats.
