Tiverton adoption centre

Meet Maggie
Maggie is a 12 year old black Domestic Short Hair who came into the centre as she was not comfortable living with the young children in her previous home. Maggie is an extremely lovable cat! She likes nothing better than to cuddle up next to you on a sofa and have a chat and a stroke. She chirrups away as you talk to her and is great company. Imagine how nice it would be to be greeted by her cheerful little face after a hard day at work!

Cares for: cats and dogs

Opened in 1985 and is now one of our largest centres. Located in central Devon, it serves a wide base of the local community, covering Tiverton, Exeter, Crediton, Cullompton, Wellington, Taunton, Barnstaple and North Devon with a large rural catchment area between. The site operates from a former commercial boarding kennels and food manufacturing plant.

Its prime function is the intake and re-integration of both cats and dogs into society. Construction work in 1990 built a new kennel block holding 32 kennels, and 16 cat units as well as an isolation unit for both cats and dogs. In 1999 a further isolation block was built, accommodating 14 cat units for nursing mums and kittens and new arrivals, as well as a puppy/dog isolation unit with three kennels.

In 2008 we added a new welfare clinic to provide treatment to pets whose owners can not afford private veterinary fees.
