If you own a pony you can become a Member of your nearest Pony Club Branch, but dont worry if you dont have your own pony, as you can still join through a Pony Club Centre. The Pony Club is a training organisation where you can take part in rallies, train for Pony Club Tests and earn Achievement Badges. For more information visit the website today www.pcuk.org or call 024 7669 8300 Blue Cross & The Pony Club The Blue Cross Horse and Pony Care Competition: This competition is an integral part of The Pony Club Championships and teams of three Pony Club Members have to demonstrate their practical and theoretical knowledge of equine welfare as required by The Pony Club tests. They are asked to show their ability to look after the welfare of the horse safely and with confidence. Qualification for the Championships is held at Pony Club Area level and successful Branches and Centres then go forward to The Pony Club Championships. The Blue Cross Equine Welfare Merit Achievement Badge: If you enjoy learning about equine welfare and have gained ten specially chosen Pony Club Achievement Badges, then you could be awarded your own Blue Cross Achievement Badge. The Achievement Badges you need to attain are are: Bandaging and rugs Care of the horses foot Feeding First aid (equine) Handling and grooming Lorinery Mucking out Perfect paddock Saddlery Shoeing All ten badges cover subjects, which involve looking after, and managing a horse or pony responsibly.
