Desperate dog pals in plea for new home

02/04/2008

The Blue Cross animal adoption centre in Burford is appealing for dog lovers to come forward to help life-long friends Binnie and Connor. They have been through a rough time and would love to find a special home together.

The charity took in the pair after their owner became too ill to look after them. Sadly, both dogs were poorly too and have since received veterinary treatment for a cancerous condition. Both dogs are doing well after their surgery and are currently well and happy, but their illness may return.

The Blue Cross is looking to find a foster home to help the soulmates enjoy the time they have left. The Blue Cross foster care scheme means the charity will pay for any future veterinary treatment needed for their condition.

Nikki Smith, Blue Cross centre manager at Burford said: "We are desperate for this lovely pair of dogs to find a new home. They aren't enjoying kennel life and really deserve to be looked after in a cosy home environment. They will make a great addition to the household with lots of love they still want to give."

Binnie is a 12-year-old brindle and white crossbreed girl. She adores human company almost as much as she worships Connor.

Connor is a 10-year-old boxer boy who still enjoys a game and a fuss. Both dogs are extremely affectionate and have been really brave throughout their important treatment.

Anyone who is interested in sharing Connor and Binnie's twilight years should contact The Blue Cross in Burford on 01993 822483 or visit the centre for more information at Shilton Road, Burford, Oxon OX18 4PF.
