Blue Cross animal hospital wins practice of the year

The Blue Cross animal hospital in Merton has beaten off stiff competition and hundreds of other nominations to win the Petplan Practice of the Year Award held by the British Small Animal Veterinary Association Congress.

The judges commended the hospital for having incredibly high standards of care in a practice that continually uses new ideas, shows constant compassion and excellent levels of clinical skill. The staff at the Merton pet charity were praised for their ability to work as a team and for their dedication to helping the local area with the introduction of a community nurse.

Head vet Caroline Reay said: “We are over the moon to have won the award and be recognised in this way. I would like to thank the staff for their constant hard work that has made this practice stand out. We will carry on offering the best service possible to all the people and pets that are eligible to use The Blue Cross.”

The practice has been extremely busy in the last year, setting up weight clinics for overweight pets, rehoming animals, and caring for thousands of pets belonging to people who cannot afford private veterinary fees.
