Northiam holds equine event

The Blue Cross equine and small animal adoption centre in Northiam is holding a Clear Round Jumping event on Saturday 17 September.

The competition, which includes classes from 18” to 2’ 9”, has been organised by the charity to raise funds for its unique work rehabilitating horse and ponies. The charity would like the event to raise awareness that The Blue Cross rehomes all rounders as well as companions.

Rosie Mogford is the new equine manager of the equine centre, she said: “I have been the equine centre manager for just over a month, but have already seen the huge levels of support that our equine events receive. We’re very excited about our plans for the Clear Round Jumping competition and hope riders of all levels will come along and enjoy the day.”

The Blue Cross equine centre shares its site with the charity’s small animal adoption centre and has 30 acres of land including some woodland with on-site stabling, field shelters and an all-weather riding arena. It has a capacity for 25 horses and ponies. The centre is run by Rosie with a head groom and a team of grooms.

The Blue Cross’s event will have four classes, with a small fee charged per round. Participants can sign up on the day.

For further information on the event and the rules and conditions of entry, please call the Northiam equine centre on 01797 252243 or email debbie.heaver@bluecross.org.uk
