LOCAL CHARITY SAYS GOODBYE FOR NOW

The Blue Cross adoption centre in Chalfont St Peter will be closing its doors for the last time on Sunday 13 March.

For the past 60 years The Blue Cross in Grassingham End has found loving new homes for thousands of rescued and unwanted cats, but the animal charity needs new facilities and more space. The new Blue Cross centre – which has facilities to care for both cats and dogs - will be based in nearby Lewknor in Buckinghamshire, and it will continue to serve the Chalfont area. It will also have on site veterinary facilities.

Centre manager Julie Stone said: “We would like to thank the local community for their fantastic support over the years. We’re so grateful for the help that we’ve received and hope to stay in touch with all our friends and supporters in the area in our new home. We do hope that all our current supporters and volunteers will visit us when we open in Lewknor in mid-April.”

The adoption centre will therefore be closed for a month, although all the cats currently at Chalfont St Peter will be looked after by other Blue Cross adoption centres around the UK until the new site opens.
