| Patch and Pod, two dogs at The Blue Cross adoption centre in Thirsk, are being overlooked by prospective new owners, because of their disabilities. Patch, a large, white, deaf boxer cross, and his friend Pod, a three-legged Staffie, are becoming bored and fed up with kennel life. Centre manager, Wendy Ellison said: Patch and Pod are effectively being left without homes as they are not perfect. This is so unfair as they are both sweet natured and have adapted well to their problems. Both dogs deserve good homes and will respond to understanding owners. Please dont ignore Patch and Pod their imperfections are part of their personalities! Patch, now four-years-old was born deaf, so will require an experienced dog owner in his new home. Pod is five and lost his front leg when he was injured by a car. Both dogs are loving and loyal and could be rehomed with teenagers and other dogs. Anyone who thinks they can offer Patch or Pod loving new homes should call The Blue Cross adoption centre in Thirsk on 01845 577 759, or visit Parklands, Station Road, Topcliffe, Thirsk. -ends- Notes to editors The Blue Cross is Britain's pet charity, providing practical support, information and advice for pet and horse owners.
