The Blue Cross animal adoption centre in Felixstowe has installed new cat flaps allowing better access to the play area for the homeless cats in the charitys care. The old cat flaps in the cattery were smaller and didnt allow the cats such easy and secure access to the play run attached to each pen. The new ones have now been installed and so the cats have even better facilities while they wait to find loving new homes. The partition in-between the two different areas of each pen has also been removed which has created one larger more usable space for the cats. One of the cats to benefit from the new design is three-year-old Fizz. She came to the centre when she started to become distressed around children in her previous home and so is looking for a quite place to live where she is the only pet. Centre manager Tom Crowley said: The new cat flaps look great and give the cats extra security and ease of access to all their toys, while allowing them to sit quietly in their beds without being disturbed by other cats. We have several different cats in at the moment who are all really friendly and enjoying their new surroundings. We hope someone will come to rehome Fizz soon. All animals leave The Blue Cross having been microchipped, neutered and vaccinated. A home visit is carried out to check the suitability of the environment for an animal. All animals are assessed carefully to make sure they go to the right home first time. Anyone who thinks they can offer Fizz a home can call The Blue Cross adoption centre in Felixstowe on 01394 283 254, or visit 333 High Street, Walton, Felixstowe.
