Britains pet charity, The Blue Cross, is appealing to local people to donate their unwanted saleable goods to help raise funds for the needy animals in its care. The Blue Crosss annual Christmas Bazaar is on Saturday 12 November and donations, such as books, games and household bric-a-brac, are desperately needed to make the event a success. Bottles and tinned goods for the tombola and cakes to sell are also needed. Amanda Simons in The Blue Cross events department, said: If anyone is having a clear out, please think of The Blue Cross. Household goods or small items that we can sell for a few pounds will make a huge difference to the animals in our care. The Blue Crosss centre in Burford finds homes for hundreds of small animals and horses a year and relies entirely on the generosity of its supporters and local animal lovers. People who would like to donate items for the Christmas Bazaar can leave them at The Blue Cross head office on Shilton Road in Burford, Oxfordshire between 9am and 5pm. Through its network of animal adoption centres it rehomes thousands of animals each year. Its hospitals provide veterinary care for the pets of people who cannot afford private vets' fees.
