The Blue Cross Britain's pet charity

Charity build receives support

The Blue Cross charity has received a generous donation from Shires Equestrian Products Ltd towards the building of the charity’s new equine rehabilitation centre in Rolleston.

A cheque for £5000 was presented to the charity by Malcolm Ainge, Managing Director of Shires, who raised the money  from sales of products during 2005.

Vanessa Rossiter, corporate fundraiser for The Blue Cross, said: “A huge thank you to Malcolm and the Shires team for supporting equine welfare in this imaginative way and contributing to this important and much needed equine facility.”

Working in support of the two existing Blue Cross equine centres in Oxfordshire and East Sussex, the new 60 acre site will have the facilities, space and equipment to allow Blue Cross staff to give up to 35 horses the help they deserve.

The Blue Cross is funded solely by public donations and relies on the support of animal lovers to help the hundreds of needy horses it cares for every year. Anyone interested in supporting The Blue Cross’s equine work or its new centre in Rolleston can call 01993 825517.
