Local bargain hunters are being invited to join in the celebrations at the official opening of The Blue Cross charity shop just off the high street in Wootton Bassett this Thursday. BBC Radio Swindons Mark Seaman and John Marshall will be opening the shop live on air at 12pm on Thursday 26 July. The shop will also be visited by three basset hounds, who will be helping shoppers sniff out a bargain. Members of the public will have the opportunity to enjoy a glass of wine with the staff and find out more about the work of The Blue Cross. Blue Cross shop manager, Mandy Payne said: Were so pleased with how busy the shop has been since we opened up last month. Weve had lots of interesting donations, from diamond rings to exercise bikes and lots of brand new items too, which is great! Wed like to a say a huge thanks to everyone who has donated items to the shop so far. All the money raised goes towards caring for the sick and homeless animals cared for by The Blue Cross at its adoption centres and hospitals. The Blue Cross shop sells clothes and accessories, books, household items, toys and a range of greetings cards. It also stocks Blue Cross information and pet care advice literature. Animal lovers who are able to spare time to volunteer in the shop are invited to contact the manager on 01793 854 013. Any saleable donations of clothes, household bric-a-brac and books will be gratefully received by the shop at Unit 17 The Borough Fields Shopping Centre, Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire, SN4 7AX.
