| 18/09/2007 The Blue Cross animal adoption centre in Northiam is holding a countryside dog walk to raise funds for the homeless pets in its care. The charity is appealing for supporters to join staff on Sunday 7 October for a stroll along the lanes and footpaths surrounding the pretty village of Northiam. The money raised from the walk will help pets like Lulu, a five-year-old female Doberman who came to The Blue Cross in June. A change in her owner's circumstances meant Lulu was not getting the attention she deserved and she was brought to the charity to find new owners. Funds from the walk will be used to look after Lulu until she find a loving new home. Maria Marmo, Blue Cross centre manager at Northiam said: We're really looking forward to the walk and I hope lots of supporters join us for a fun stroll around the village. The money raised will be essential to help us look after Lulu and all the other animals we care for at The Blue Cross. Entry to the walk is from 9.00am until 12.00noon and goody bags will be available to all those taking part. Entry to the dog walk is with a minimum donation of £5 and hot refreshments will be provided all day. If you would like to raise your own sponsorship for taking part sponsor forms are available form The Blue Cross centre at Northiam.
