PRESS RELEASE 7 April 2010 Cabinet of curiosities tempts customers into charity shop Shoppers are in for a real treat if they pop into The Blue Cross animal charity shop in Droitwich Spa this week. An exciting stash of valuable and unusual items, collected over the last two years, has gone on display in the St Andrews Street shop after they acquired a new glass display cabinet. A diverse range of curious collectibles has been tempting shoppers off the street to part with their hard-earned cash. Collectors will be in heaven browsing treasures ranging from quality pottery by makers such as Spode and Wade, including figurines and dinner services, to binoculars and vintage cameras snap one up before its too late! Nicky Carr, assistant manager at The Blue Cross shop said: Weve had so many of wonderful, generous donations over the years and its great to see all the best and most unusual pieces on display. Id really urge people to come and have a look before they miss out. There are some real gems for sale that have been enticing in lots of new customers - the vintage cameras have been particularly popular. Nicky continued: One of the more unusual donations weve had was a whole box full of boxer dog ornaments, from teeny tiny ones to a huge boxer dog bust! Quite appropriate really, as all the money we make in the shop goes towards the care of sick and homeless animals of all shapes and sizes. The Blue Cross receives no government funding and relies on public donations to continue its vital work helping needy animals through its network of animal adoption centres and hospitals. Blue Cross shops need a high level of stock to keep trading, so saleable donations of clothes, books and household items are always welcome. Now that spring has finally arrived, its a great time to dust off your own collection and have a clear out for charity.
