David Howarth - MP for Cambridge - unveiled a commemorative plaque and officially opened the new Blue Cross animal adoption centre in Cambridge on Friday 16 September.

The ceremony saw invited guests from the local area and Blue Cross supporters viewing the new facilities. The centre has been rebuilt to offer the highest standard of care for Cambridge’s needy cats. Having stood on the same site for the last seventy years, the cattery needed to be updated, and this project is now complete. Thousands of cats have found permanent loving homes thanks to the centre and this rebuild ensures the future will see more homeless cats finding the owners they deserve.

Centre Manager Alan Maskell said: “The rebuilt cattery is now up and running, and we are delighted to be able to celebrate this with our friends and supporters. The Blue Cross has been part of the community here in Cambridge for a long time. We will continue with the work we have been doing in this area for the last seventy years and look forward to helping many more animals find the homes they deserve.”
