Winners announced

The four big winners from the Christmas Draw 2005 raffle have been picked out at the charity’s animal adoption centre in Burford.

From over 136,000 tickets, Mr and Mrs McDavid from Broadstone, Dorset were picked to scoop the first prize of £5,000. Mrs Lines from Dagenham, Essex came second with a prize of £1,000; third prize of £500 went to Mrs Shepherd from Maidstone, Kent; and fourth was taken by CJ Churchill from Cublington, Leighton Buzzard.

All proceeds raised will go directly towards The Blue Cross’s work with sick and abandoned animals.

Blue Cross trading manager Jonathan Chambers said: “We have brought in over £164,000 through the raffle. This is a fantastic achievement and we would like to thank all those who contributed. It is support like this that enables the Blue Cross to continue its work around the country finding loving new homes and providing the best standards of veterinary care for needy animals.”
