The Blue Cross carol concert took place on 14 December, raising five thousand pounds for needy pets, including over a thousand pounds in donations alone on the night. The event was a great success, with all 300 tickets selling out and a packed audience at St Peter's Church in London enjoying wine and mince pies, music by the famous English Chamber Choir and trumpeters from The Blues & Royals Regiment Band. Guests were also joined on the night by a number of celebrity guest readers including actors Anthony Head, Jenny Seagrove, Ian Hogg and Angela Rippon OBE. The church itself is close to the Blue Cross Victoria animal hospital which celebrated its centenary this year. Concert organiser and Blue Cross regional fundraiser Craig Burchell, said: "We have been overwhelmed with how successful the Blue Cross Carol Concert has been. Our guests on the night all said how much they enjoyed themselves, I think the complimentary mince pies and wine beforehand may have helped with the festivities but everyone enjoyed the wonderful music and celebrity readings." "In fact, we have already started taking phone calls from people interested in next year's carol concert which is wonderful. Here's hoping for an even better event next year."
