Staff from the Blue Cross adoption centre in Hertfordshire will make an appearance on the BBC1 series New Tricks on Monday 30 April. They had the opportunity to appear as extras on the popular series, starring Dennis Waterman and Amanda Redman. The three animal welfare assistants, Joanna Donnachie, Joanna Lane and Louise Clarke attended on behalf of The Blue Cross for filming. New Tricks features Dennis Waterman, James Bolam, Amanda Redman and Alun Armstrong as police detectives who have accepted premature retirement but are called in to solve cases that are eluding others, and they usually pull it off. Next week's episode centres on a suspected murder at a cat show. Lynda Campbell, centre manager at the adoption centre, said: "They had a great day filming and are in the background of many shots. Cast and crew were happy to pose for photos with staff and sign autographs." You can watch the episode, entitled Nine Lives, on Monday 30 April at 9pm on BBC1. April 2007
