The Blue Cross has opened a new charity shop in Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire. BBC Radio Swindon's John Marshall officially opened the shop live on air on 26 July, with help from some basset hounds. The new shop manager, Mandy Payne said: "We're so pleased with how busy the shop has been. We've had lots of interesting donations, from diamond rings to exercise bikes and lots of brand new items too, which is great! We'd like to a say a huge thanks to everyone who has donated items to the shop so far. All the money raised goes towards caring for the sick and homeless animals cared for by The Blue Cross at its adoption centres and hospitals." The Blue Cross shop sells clothes and accessories, books, household items, toys and a range of greetings cards. It also stocks Blue Cross information and pet care advice literature. Animal lovers who are able to spare time to volunteer in the shop are invited to contact the manager on 01793 854 013. Any saleable donations of clothes, household bric-a-brac and books will be gratefully received by the shop at: Unit 17 The Borough Fields Shopping Centre Wootton Bassett Wiltshire SN4 7AX More about our charity shops July 2007 |
