The Blue Cross Veterinary Care Fund

The Blue Cross Veterinary Care Fund is a way of helping the needy pets of people on lower incomes who do not live near Blue Cross hospitals or welfare clinics.

It is a grant scheme whereby payments may be made towards the veterinary costs treating illnesses, accidents and neutering, but not for routine treatments such as vaccinations, de-worming and defleaing. Pet owners must be on a means tested benefit, state pension with no other income or specified levels of low income to be eligible for the service.

The scheme first began in 2006 and has been hugely popular, so far having processed grants through 1,100 veterinary practices (28% of all private vets in the UK).

Grants cannot be made for treatment that has already been undertaken so it is important that pet owners contact The Blue Cross as soon as they become aware that their pets need treatment.

If you are eligible for the scheme and would like more information please telephone 01993 825593 between 09.00 and 17.00 Monday to Friday.
