The charming, historic market town, Stow on the Wold in Gloucestershire, has welcomed a new Blue Cross charity shop to its cobbled lanes. As the tenth Blue Cross charity shop, the new store was opened on 28 March in style, with a visit from local TV star Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen with his wife Jackie and pet spaniels, Florence, Chester and Dandy. Many locals attended the opening to browse for bargains, and find out more about The Blue Cross. Shop manager Susan Wathen said: Weve had a really positive response from shoppers we took an amazing £675 on our first day of trading. Wed like to encourage even more visitors and are always grateful for any donations. Animal lovers with time to spare, who would like to volunteer in the Stow shop, should contact shop manager Sue Wathen, on 01451 831717 or drop in for a chat about vacancies at The Blue Cross charity shop, 2 Church Road, Stow on the Wold, GL54 1BE. |
