Chester cheats death twice

A cat is thanking his lucky stars he’s got nine lives after cheating death twice.

Chester was hit by a car and was at death’s door when he was then dragged away by a scavenging fox.

Thankfully he was spotted by a passer-by and rushed to our animal hospital in Grimsby.

Our veterinary staff were able to save him and, thanks to the fact that he was fitted with a microchip, reunite him with his distressed owners who had been left fearing the worst when he disappeared a few days before.

His owner Karen Traill says: “It is such a relief to have Chester home, he is recovering well after his ordeal.

“We’re so grateful to The Blue Cross for saving his life and reuniting us. As he’s used up two of his nine lives I think we’ll keep him grounded for a while.

“We would also like to thank our neighbours and everyone who rallied round to help us try and find Chester when he went missing.”

Our chief vet at Grimsby, Wendy Adams, says: “We immediately took action to stabilise the cat’s condition.

“He was unconscious and was bleeding from the head. He has been through a terrible ordeal and we were delighted that he has pulled through and is safely back home.

“We urge all pet owners to get their pet microchipped so that they can be quickly returned to their owners if they become lost.”
