Theyre older and theyre wiser meet the mature moggies. These cats believe age is nothing but a number and theyre urging adopters not to be put off by their advanced years. They are all at our adoption centre in Torbay and are looking for loving homes. They include 12-year-old Taz who would love to make someone a purrfect companion and nine-year-old tortoiseshell Monkey who is very affectionate. Centre manager at Torbay, Tim Sillis, said: There are so many advantages to having an older cat they tend to enjoy company more than a younger cat and are more affectionate. As they like company, they spend less time away from home and love to curl up on a warm lap for the evening. Older cats are generally more settled than youngsters, so they are more likely to fit in easily to your home. Sadly, older cats are often overlooked by people who want kittens and younger cats, so they can end up spending a long time at adoption centres waiting to find a new home. Some of these gorgeous cats can be with us for anything from six months to a year (which is seven cat years). If you think one of our golden oldies could be the perfect pet for you, call the centre on 01803 327728 or click on the links below: Taz is a 12-year-old black cat. Eight-year-old black cat Tony is a lap cat who loves nothing more than a fuss and a tickle under the chin. He has lived with children in the past so he could do so again. Diamond is ten years old. He is a handsome cat who would love to find a new family in a rural area and would be happy to live with older children. Black and white Shadow is 14 years old. Shes an affectionate girl looking for a new owner who would be around for a lot of the day. She likes to go out in the summer and will happily sit on your lap if you put a cushion on it. Striking tortoiseshell Monkey is nine years old. Shy and independent at first, she becomes very affectionate once she gets to know you. Shed like to find a new home where she can be the only pet. Gizmo needs a special owner to give him a chance of a happy life. Gizmo is a sweet and friendly 11-year-old who loves curling up on someones lap and will sleep happily on a blanket at the end of your bed at night. Unfortunately ongoing medical conditions mean that Gizmo will need to take medication for the rest of his life to keep him healthy and happy so he is looking for a dedicated owner. Because of his medical needs, he will be adopted under our supported adoption scheme, which will provide financial support for his medication. |
