A Blue Cross rescue dog has won gold in a prestigious training programme. Fin was given the top award by the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Training Scheme. The Jack Russell/staffie cross had to carry out several tough tasks to pass the test, including food manners, examination by a stranger and emergency stop. Fin came to us as a stray and head nurse at our Hammersmith animal hospital, Marion Jolliffe, adopted him. In the early days cheeky Fin got up to no good. Not only did he disappear out of the park and run into the London Underground, boarding a train and travelling along the Northern Line, but he was highly excited by other dogs. But after enrolling at a local dog training class, Marion and Fins relationship blossomed and his training came on in leaps and bounds. After scooping the bronze and silver awards on the Kennel Clubs scheme, Fin took on his toughest challenge yet the gold award. Find out about how Fin and Marion got on here. |
