The Blue Cross stunned at £800 mystery donation

Vets and nurses at one of our animal hospitals were stunned to discover an envelope with £800 cash from a mystery donor.

The envelope was addressed to the hospital in Merton, south London and inside was the wad of money with a message simply reading: “a donation”.

It’s a huge boost for the hospital, which is funded entirely by public donations and treats around 500 sick and injured animals a week.

Head nurse Tamsin Durston says: “When we opened the post and discovered the wad of £20 notes we couldn’t believe our eyes.

“We’re so used to seeing pet owners who struggle to get by that this kind of generosity is overwhelming.

“Our clients and their animals will join us in saying an enormous thank you to the mystery animal lover who sent it to us.”
