An outraged cat owner from Yorkshire has spoken out against attackers who targeted her beloved moggie with an air gun.

Tracey Homan recently discovered her injured cat Rosie shortly after the pet was shot at 50 times.

The moggie's injuries were so severe vets were initially unable to tell what had caused the wounds.

However, following medical tests 50 air pellets were found in the pet and so far 20 have been extracted.

Unfortunately the remainder are likely to remain lodged in the feline as removing them may cause more damage.

Mrs Homan condemned the attackers and said she has contacted the police to report the incident.

"I'm absolutely furious. I just can't believe somebody could be so cruel to an animal," she said.

"When I think about what's happened it brings tears to my eyes."

Meanwhile, a Norfolk cat recently had his paw amputated after the limb became injured during a devastating air gun attack.
