The Blue Cross is a UK registered animal charity. We don’t receive any government funding, and are totally reliant on donations and fundraising events for our income.

We are proud that 83% of all donations to The Blue Cross goes directly towards helping animals in need. Last year it cost us more than £15.3 million to provide our services - for example, it costs:

  • £4 to provide a lifesaving intravenous drip for a sick pet in one of our animal hospitals
  • £9 a week to keep a dog’s kennel warm
  • £57 to provide the veterinary care needed by a cat
  • £80 per week to care for one of the 80 horses in our three equine centres
  • £250 to cover basic veterinary health treatment for each equine that comes into our care at one of our three equine centres
  • £447 to care for a dog during its stay in one of our adoption centres

Please remember to Gift Aid your donations to The Blue Cross animal charity
If you pay income or capital gains tax, Gift Aid adds 28 pence to every £1 of your donation. Simply fill in the Gift Aid Declaration on your Blue Cross donation form.
