Other ways to give

The Blue Cross is a UK registered animal charity. We don’t receive any government funding, and are totally reliant on donations and fundraising events for our income.

We are proud that we only spend 6% of our total income on administration allowing more of your donation to go directly to helping the animals in our care. Last year it cost us more than £21.6 million to provide our services - for example, it costs:

  • £25 to provide vaccinations that will protect a puppy against life threatening illness
  • £19.11 a week to keep a dog’s kennel warm
  • £84.12 to provide the veterinary care needed by a cat
  • £35 to pay for a course of vaccinations to protect a horse or pony’s health
  • £230.53 to care for a dog during its stay in one of our adoption centres
  • Up to £840 to provide hay and bedding for a horse over winter

Please remember to Gift Aid your donations to The Blue Cross animal charity
If you pay income or capital gains tax, Gift Aid adds 28 pence to every £1 of your donation. Simply fill in the Gift Aid Declaration on your Blue Cross donation form.
