Working with animals is a rewarding career that can give a tremendous sense of achievement and satisfaction. However, it is also extremely hard work, can be upsetting and is physically as well as mentally demanding.

The Blue Cross currently employs a total of 420 staff at 15 different locations. The sites are divided into four areas of activity, each accessible from the links to the left:

• Adoption & equine centres
• Animal hospitals
• Head office
• Learn about using animals in therapy

Work experience
Our centres and animal hospitals may take young people on work experience, but places are limited. Applications for placements should be made in writing direct to the relevant adoption centre or animal hospital where you would like to gain experience.
