Dumped and left to die: Kitts in the woods in safe hands now

A litter of young kittens was taken to Blue Cross after a passer-by discovered them in nearby woods.

The 10-week-old youngsters had been taped-up inside box without food or water but thankfully a passer-by heard their cries and brought them safely into the charity’s care.

Tracy Lang, Veterinary Nurse at our Grimsby animal hospital said: “This adorable litter of kittens were very lucky to be found.

“It is shocking that they were just dumped like this and we hope they soon find homes where they will be loved.”

The litter were hungry and covered in fleas but are otherwise healthy.

The three females and one male kitten have been nicknamed Amy, Penny, Bernadette and Sheldon by vet nurses who are fans of the hit US TV show The Big Bang Theory.

Amy found a home locally and the remaining three are now at the charity’s Burford, Oxfordshire rehoming centre and will soon go to new homes.

Blue Cross is calling on cat owners to get their pets neutered to prevent unwanted litters.

Tracy added: “Cats must be neutered to prevent unwanted litters, sadly at Blue Cross we take in so many unwanted kittens and have admitted over a thousand already this year.”
