On Sunday 14 May, Blue Cross will be attempting to set the world record for the largest gathering of people dressed as cats, and we need your help!
What is the Blue Cross world record attempt?
We want to break the world record for the largest gathering of people dressed as cats. We need 500 willing supporters of all ages to dress as cats on the day to help us set the world record.
Our world record attempt will take place at Blue Cross Burford rehoming centre, Shilton Road, Burford, Oxon OX18 4PF.
How do I take part?
The first step is to register by clicking on the link below and let us know you’re taking part. We will then send you your welcome pack which is full of information and tips for the day. Then you get to put together your fantastic cat costume.
On the day, simply turn up and sign in by 11:30am then wait for further instructions.
We have to give lots of evidence to prove we’ve broken the world record, so there will be photography and filming taking place, stewards counting you in and out of the area, and we all have to be within the world record area for five minutes for the record to count. Don’t worry though, we’ll be keeping you entertained throughout!
What are the criteria for dressing up as a cat?
To be counted as part of the Guinness World Record attempt, your costume will need to be:
- a full head to toe costume
- include ears, tail and whiskers (whiskers may be painted on)
- recognisable as a cat
When you register you will receive a programme which will include all of these details for you.
