The L E Andrews Charitable Trust has supported Blue Cross since 2010 and in 2017 donated a generous £25,000 to fund a puppy pen within the maternity suite at our newly refurbished Burford rehoming centre. This wonderful addition to the facilities has enabled us to accommodate pregnant bitches and puppies for the first time at Burford. Needy cocker spaniel pups, William and Tabitha, turned to us for help when their breeder was unable to find homes for either puppy as they had congenital eye conditions which greatly limited their vision. These two cuties were cared for by the team at our new dedicated Burford puppy unit and have now been rehomed to very committed owners who understand they will require special ongoing care.
Representatives of the L E Andrews Trust joined our celebrations at the official opening of the new facilities, enjoying a tour of the new site and meeting some canine residents of The Lilian Andrews Puppy Pen.
Generous grants such as this support will enable us to help many more desperately needy puppies like William and Tabitha.
