Mosaic artists join architects, builders and sculptors to create unique kennel collection

Nine top UK mosaic artists are joining forces with other creatives from across the globe to design a stunning collection of dog kennels to raise funds for homeless, abandoned, sick and injured pets cared for by Blue Cross.

The initiative launched in March 2017 when the pet charity teamed up with U.S based Outdoor Arts Foundation to launch ‘BowWow Haus London’, a public exhibition of bespoke dog kennels which will be displayed at sites across the capital, including St Pancras International station. Each kennel will be will be auctioned to the highest bidder in May 2018.

Matt Cull, Deputy Director of Fundraising at Blue Cross said: "Blue Cross couldn't be more excited for this upcoming exhibition and we are delighted to have such incredible international talent already on board to create a kennel.  Our charity helps over 40,000 pets each year and it is wonderful to be able to benefit those dogs in need with some inspirational, unique art."

The mosaic artists include London based Ivan Djidev, whose work is featured in the Vatican in Rome, and Natalie Guy, who created a mosaic star for the National Trust Sculpture Trail.

Wendy Spinks, Commercial Director of HS1 Ltd, the company that’s owns and operates St Pancras International, said: "We are happy to support the BowWow Haus London project
and help raise funds for Blue Cross.  We often introduce installations at the station that make the station users smile as they go about their journey, and as part of this project the station will be home to some amazing designs for homes for dogs. This will form part of the activities at the station during 2018, the 150th Anniversary of St Pancras station."

Blue Cross and Outdoor Arts are continuing to recruit architects, artists, designers and builders, to take part, please contact Outdoor Arts Foundation Executive Director Jay Goulde at [email protected].
