Animal advocate’s generous gift set to benefit pets in need

A generous dog lover has helped to ensure a happier future for pets after giving a gift to Blue Cross in his Will.

John Bennett was a great animal advocate and caring for homeless and unwanted dogs was his passion.

His wife, Sue, said: “Dogs were always close to John’s heart and he rescued a number of them over the years, homing them himself or placing them with others.

“We had five at one time, which often proved comical when we took them out!”

Mr Bennett is pictured here with Gizmo the collie, who was devoted to him, Scamp the little Jack Russell, and Tess the staffie cross.

Mr Bennett’s wonderful gift will hugely benefit the sick, injured and homeless pets in our care.

We are extremely grateful to Mr Bennett and hope he would be happy to know that many dogs and other animals can look forward to happier and healthier lives thanks to his legacy.
