Coconut drops

Our homemade coconut drops are easy to make and can provide a healthy shine to your dog's coat.

Our homemade frozen coconut drops are the perfect treat for a hot summer's day. Using just a few simple ingredients, they're easy to make and are full of flavour. Even better, blueberries are also packed with antioxidants, giving this DIY treat some extra added goodness!

Important

Due to the sugar content of this recipe, diabetic dogs should not be fed coconut drops. Coconut treats should be fed in moderation for all dogs.

What you'll need:

  • One tsp xylitol-free honey
  • One cup coconut oil
  • Handful of blueberries
  • Heat-proof mixing bowl

How to make coconut drops for your dog

  1. Add the coconut oil to the heat-proof bowl
  2. Place the bowl over a pan of boiling water
  3. Mix until softened
  4. Add the honey and blueberries, then combine
  5. Remove the mixing bowl from the heat
  6. Leave to cool until it starts to harden again
  7. When the mixture is cool enough to touch, start shaping it into bite-sized balls
  8. Place each coconut drop onto a tray or chopping board
  9. Pop in the freezer and remove the coconut drops are hardened

Let your dog enjoy!

Note

Treats should be given occasionally and alongside a well-balanced diet. Always check with your vet if your dog has any special dietary requirements.
